About Our Challenge
The Year 12 Student Leaders have initiated the school’s involvement in the Push-Up Challenge 2024 throughout June. The Push-Up Challenge is Australia's largest mental health and fitness event. Each year, hundreds of thousands of Australians take up the challenge to complete a set number of push-ups that represent the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in the most recent year.
The Push-Up Challenge educates participants with daily mental health facts, and participants have the opportunity to fundraise for mental health charities. The charity selected by the Student Leaders is headspace- Dandenong, who provide mental and physical health services to young people aged 12-25, from the Dandenong community.
The Push-Up Challenge has been set-up as a House competition, and we want to see as many students and staff engaging in the challenge for the month of June.
The Push starts on Wednesday 5th June. Say yes!
Supporting headspace Dandenong
Situated in an Australian multicultural hub, headspace Dandenong embraces diversity, offering support in over 170 languages. As a refugee-welcome zone with 64% of its population born overseas, it fosters inclusivity and cultural understanding. By providing tailored mental health services, headspace Dandenong ensures young people from all backgrounds achieve better health outcomes, enriching the vibrant tapestry of its community.
