Our Mission at MCA

In 2024, Marist College Ashgrove is supporting The Push-Up Challenge from 5 - 28 June, an initiative being led by the College Student Wellbeing Captains. All members of our Community are invited to be a part of this initiative as we raise awareness around Mental Health.

The Push-Up Challenge revolves around the completion of 3,249 push-ups over a 24 day period. This number, 3,249, represent the number of people who sadly passed away as a result of suicide in Australia in 2022 (most recent stats). By aiming to complete this number of push-ups over the month of June, participants aim to push for better awareness, support and understanding of the issues surrounding mental health. As the leading cause of death in men aged 14 to 44, we recognise the importance of talking about mental health in our community and hope that by participating in this initiative, we can promote a better attitude towards managing mental health, and support those who may be suffering to speak up and seek support.

Supporting headspace National

headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.

Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 157 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.

The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
