About My Challenge

This June I am challenging myself to complete 3,249 push-ups in 24 days to raise awareness and funds for Lifeline and mental health in Australia.

Lifeline is Australia’s largest free suicide prevention service provider with over 1 million Australians reaching out each year. With Mental health support not being affordable or often accessible at a time when Australians need it the most it is vital that Lifeline can continue to provide critical crisis support and suicidal prevention services to anyone that needs it.

Over 3000 Australians take their own life each year, that is approximately 8 Australians dying EVERY DAY by suicide. Beyond the tragic loss of the person, the impact of suicide deaths are felt by up to 135 people, including family members, work colleagues and friends. Last year, I was one of those impacted by the suicide death of a close contact and wish they knew what support and services were available to them. I am also not ashamed to admit that I am the 1 within 5 Australians who experience a mental health disorder that could very much lead to requiring these support services.

Mental health is something you can’t see. Everyone is fighting their own battle; you can never assume because someone is happy or always smiling that they aren’t suffering. Always be kind, check on those you love and make sure they know they aren’t alone and get onboard donating to this amazing support service provider

Supporting Lifeline

Lifeline exists to ensure no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.
We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.

Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge has played a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
