About My Challenge
I'm completing 3,249 push-ups in 24 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia.
I am doing this challenge in honor of those who I have known through my life who have unfortunately taken their own lives as well as those who struggle with mental illness.
Robert, my uncle that I am lucky to have a middle name in his honor. I really wish I got to meet and get to know as my family talks very highly of him. Robert took his own life in 1983.
Mum, who I miss so much. She was an amazing mother that despite so many challenges in her life worked hard to ensure Tamara & I were loved and looked after. Mum taught me so much but what resonates most is empathy and love. Mum had many friends over the years and loved a good time with family and friends. Mum always struggled with mental health but after a rapid decline, took her own life in 2019.
Stacey, a friend who was a devoted mother to her three wonderful children and much loved daughter of Lucy. Stacey adored her children, they were her world. Stacey was the life of the party and lit up every room she entered, she made many special long term friends who knew she would always be there for them. Stacey had often battled mental health issues and unfortunately it became too much and she took her own life early 2024.
My aim is to raise both awareness and funds, striving to break down the stigma surrounding mental health. It's crucial to encourage open conversations about emotions and struggles. Personally, I've confronted mental health challenges, as have many close to me. Let's continue to communicate, support each other, and remember that #ItsOKToNotBeOK.
You can show your support by making a tax-deductible donation to my page. Every dollar helps #pushforbetter mental health outcomes in Australia by funding much-needed mental health services and initiatives.
