About My Challenge

I'm

I am very proud to be a Lifeline Australia Ambassador for this year’s Push-Up Challenge and I will be completing 3,249 push-ups in 24 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health in Australia.

Nine Australians die every day by suicide. Every life lost is a tragedy which beyond the individual, affects families, workplaces and communities.

I hope to help break down the stigma of mental health and hope this sparks some much needed conversation around the topic of masculinity and blokes having “real chats”.

Knowing that just $39 is all it costs to help save a life,  with one phone call to Lifeline Australia, and that Lifeline desperately needs the funds to help facilitate as many calls as needed for as long as someone needs the help, made me jump at the chance to help out.

Working in the entertainment industry, I am very aware of the expectations put on us to be happy and perform at peak performance  8 times a week, but i know that this is just not sustainable without help, for a lot of people. I have seen and i have dealt with my own struggles and am fortunate enough to have regular psychotherapy sessions and people around me to help lighten the load when needed.

Lifeline Crisis Supporters also helps lighten the load for thousands of Australians every year, through phone calls, web chat and messaging service.

So we simply must do what we can to keep this vital service in operation.

I wish everyone good luck with their challenge and their fundraising targets. I hope this also helps spark a more meaningful connection with others and yourself.

Supporting Lifeline

Lifeline exists to ensure no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.
We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.

Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge has played a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
