Text and Chat Crisis Supporters Push-Up Challenge
My name is Lacey Eckel and I am a volunteer Text and Chat Crisis Supporter. During the month of June, I will be leading a team of Crisis Supporters through the Push-Up Challenge. Since 2017, The Push Up Challenge has raised over $50 million (!) for mental health programs and services and engaged over 700,000 people to push for better mental health. I want to challenge you to dig deep, and to complete a set number of push-ups (or other suitable exercise) to represent the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in the most recent year of available data.
I would love to bring the Text and Chat Crisis Support Team together, not only to support this important cause but also to have fun along the way. Whether it's meeting up with some local CS's to do some push ups together, sharing progress, celebrating milestones, or cheering each other on- I'm hoping we can create a positive and supportive vibe throughout the challenge. Let's push ourselves physically while lifting each other up mentally. I can't wait to get started with all of you- let's make a real difference together!

Our crisis support services are available 24/7 to listen, without judgement, to any person in Australia who is feeling overwhelmed, experiencing crisis or longs to be heard.
Experience shows us it is through connection that we can find hope. With Australians struggling with cost-of-living pressures, increasing inflation, housing insecurity, global instability, and recovery after extreme weather events, our crisis support services have remained in high demand with our voice and text services receiving up to 4,000 contacts a day from help seekers. Our partnership with The Push Up Challenge plays a vital role in raising funds to support the delivery of suicide prevention and crisis support services at a time where we have never been needed more.
