About My Challenge

Our why:

Our young people and Youth Advisory Committee are asking us to build our group and peer worker programs that have made a profound impact on the mental health of our community.

In addition to System Restore Social Club, a safe space for those that are socially isolated, we aim to expand and provide peer led groups for empowering young women, Social and Emotional Wellbeing programs for First Nations young people, a safe space for our LGBTQIA+ young people and expanding our therapeutic green garden space.

Peer Work has been a game changer for not just our young people but their families, as one parent says "without this peer worker relationship i feel they wouldn’t necessary information to receive the care and support they needed from headspace Broome and for this i am truly grateful"

Supporting headspace Broome

headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.

Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace centres in over 157 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools.

The support headspace receives from the community helps us achieve our vision - that all young Australians are supported to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities.
