Teachers - Resources and more to help your school push for better mental health

Better mental health and wellbeing for your school through connection, physical activity and education.

At The Push-Up Challenge, we’re passionate about supporting teachers and their schools to encourage conversation and help de-stigmatise mental health.

With young people less likely than any other age group to seek professional help; reducing stigma and barriers to help-seeking is a vital step.

Get your school involved

If you know a student going into years 10, 11 or 12 in 2025 who is keen to lead the push for better mental health at their school, nominate them to join our Student Ambassador Program. They’ll encourage fellow students (and teachers!) to level up their physical fitness while having fun and learning about mental health through participation in The Push-Up Challenge.

The Push-Up Challenge served as a reminder that by coming together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those around us, both in terms of their mental and physical well-being." - Principal, Holland Park State High School

Mental health awareness training for teachers

Many educators are aware of the mental health crisis affecting our young people - almost 40% of Australians aged 16 to 24 have experienced a mental health disorder. This means that close to half of the students in our classrooms are struggling.

We’re trialling a mental health awareness training program for teachers and educators to help equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to start conversations and encourage help-seeking behaviours in the classroom.

Get in touch with our team if you want to know more about how to help your school community push for better mental health for young Australians.

Can primary schools join the challenge?

We've had a heap of primary schools take part in The Push-Up Challenge - all it takes is a little adapting of the push-ups and mental health content to ensure it is age appropriate. Get in touch and we can send you more info.
